Jagadeesh Guttula

Jagadeesh’s practice emerges from a state of reverie - a quiet reflection on the transformation in nature and human beings.

Jagadeesh Guttula’s work series in ceramic, Rusting Petals: Heroic Bloom, reflects the delicate balance in which nature sustains humanity while gradually relinquishing its own essence. In these works, the flowers symbolise nature’s generosity, offering both beauty and nourishment. Yet, as they intertwine with human-made elements, their original form begins to fade.
These recent explorations turn toward the idea of lost innocence. Rather than depicting childhood directly, Jagadeesh reflects on how purity and imagination are reshaped by artificial environments. The fading of innocence becomes a metaphor for the fading vitality of the natural world -both altered, both enduring in quiet resistance.
This subtle transformation underscores the quiet sacrifices that nature endures for human existence. Through these works, Guttula invites viewers to contemplate the profound yet precariously imbalanced relationship between humans and the natural world.
